Complicated plot features Brown as the editor of a small-town newspaper. He's in love with Rice, a local storekeeper's daughter, but her father (Briggs) doesn't approve of him. Brown is involved in a correspondence with a rival editor (Haworth), and the pair get mixed up with some smugglers and the invention of a radio beam.
