Rider On A Dead Horse

Vivyan, Gordon, and Lampkin are prospectors who bury their gold so warring Apaches will not be able to get to it. Lampkin rides off and gets shot in the back by Gordon, who permits the third man to live since Vivyan knows how to get back to the gold. The Apaches attack, forcing the two men to abandon their horses. Lampkin's riderless horse runs by, and Gordon finally shoots Vivyan, riding off on his victim's horse. Vivyan is not dead, though, and is healed by Lu, a young Chinese girl who hopes the white man will take her to San Francisco.
