This attempt to take a behind-the-scenes look at the love affairs of the rich and famous was the precursor of such television soap operas as "Dallas" and "Dynasty." No different from the 1980s versions, it is dressed up with fancy settings and expensive costumes, but it never really lives up to our expectations.
