A hard-up Dixieland band led by Grant is forced to smuggle its instruments out of a pawn shop each night in order to play at the local nightclub. Smith, the air-headed clerk of the shop, goes along with the plot when he is promised that the songs he's been writing will be performed. This causes problems with his gal, Collier, a would-be singer who sees sexy Frazee cajoling him and assumes the worst. The ending features Smith's songs being sung over the air by Collier. Musical numbers include: "It's a Big Wide Wonderful World" (John Rox), "Chi Chi" (Armida), "Love" (Bill Raynor, Edward J. Kay), "B Flat Blues," "Return Trip," "What Does It Matter" (Kay), and "With a Twist of the Wrist" (Irvin Graham). leave a comment
