Lighthearted story has nine-year-old Perreau traveling to Reno to apply for a divorce from her parents, Erickson and Dee. Stevens plays the lawyer who is willing to take the case, with the intention of getting to the bottom of the matter--that is, to find out why the girl wants this divorce. The parents are contacted and make their way to Reno, where Erickson, Dee, and a sympathetic judge, Collins, stage a fake divorce proceeding to find out what problems the little girl has that make her want to rid herself of her parents. It turns out that Dee is expecting a child, and Perreau, an adoptee, fears she'll now be in the way. All are reconciled in the end. leave a comment
