Filmed in suburban Cleveland, this autobiographical fantasy produced, written, and directed by Harold Cornsweet, a onetime Ohio State football player, focuses on Hal Norman (Earl Keyes), an ex-Buckeye whose varsity career was cut short by military service. When the local high school
coach (Al Raymond, the real-life Shaker Heights High School football coach) asks the middle-aged former kicker to work with some of his players, visions of a return to glory dance in Hal's head. Before long he's back in Columbus, playing out his last year of eligibility, outfited with a special
kicking shoe that he uses to perform plenty of game-winning heroics.
