The Return Of The Tall Blond Man With One Black Shoe: Review

This sequel to THE TALL BLOND MAN WITH ONE BLACK SHOE begins three months after the tall blond Francois Perrin (Pierre Richard) has departed for Rio with Christine (Mireille Darc), a pretty blonde agent, as once again Francois becomes the target of the French Secret Service. Because of his "heroic" exploits in the previous film, Francois is to honored by the government. Inspector Toulouse (Jean Rochefort), however, knows that Francois is not a spy but a hapless innocent who survives by sheer chance. He sends his agents to Rio to liquidate Francois in order to avoid any embarrassment. Of course, Francois proves just as difficult a target as in the previous film. Not quite as entertaining as the original--it's joke beginning to wear thin--but the performances, especially Richard's, are worth seeing. The videocassette is dubbed in English. leave a comment
