A back-to-the-soil theme highlights this story of a man, Robertson, who returns to his Texas ranch after his wife dies in the big city. Along with his father, Brennan, and two sons, Robertson goes about rebuilding the broken-down ranch, which is surrounded by wealthy landowners. One
rancher, Boone, is not very receptive to Robertson's return, and especially doesn't take kindly to Brennan's poaching on his land. Although obsessed with the past and the memory of his dead wife, Robertson manages to find love again with Boone's sister-in-law, Dru, and is able to build himself a
happy family once again. The cast and direction create an honest and warm atmosphere.
