The producers of Broadway's Pulitzer Prize-winning Rent have announced that its curtain call has been pushed back from June 1 to Sept. 7, citing a surge in ticket sales. Theatergoers who secured seats for the "final" week of performances can exchange them for what is now the final week of performances, while those who purchased tickets for closing night can swap them for the new closing night. — MWM

Season 6 American Idol Jordin Sparks will appear on Fox's Talkshow with Spike Feresten on Jan. 19, to perform "Tattoo," the first single from her self-titled debut.... An upcoming Late Show with David Letterman guest will be Democratic presidential candidate Sen. John Edwards (Jan. 22) .... The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson will feature Ringo Starr (Jan. 24).... So in addition to handing out lower scores, Carrie Ann, Len and Bruno were downright nitpicky. I like it that way, though; how else would we know that a tango can be too Argentinean?
