This choppy yarn set in Napoleonic times has Kent, a simple governess, marrying a wealthy lord and inheriting his estate upon his untimely death. She soon finds her residence filled with some nasty people who are working for Napoleon and trying to get their hands on some papers concerning the plans of Wellington's army.
