Red Sundown

Briskly paced depiction of a familiar and well-used tale has Calhoun playing the former gunslinger who has turned to life on the ranch after the death of a good buddy. When a cattle baron, Middleton, threatens a range war to extend his empire, Calhoun, at Hyer's insistence, puts on his gunbelt again. He also puts a star on his chest and becomes deputy to Hyer's father. In the end, he is forced to prove himself against the gunman Middleton hired.
