This religious satire follows a group of travelers as they flee a snowstorm by taking refuge in a remote inn, where the husband and wife who own the hotel routinely kill their guests and steal their riches. Fernandel hears the confession of these crimes when Rosay comes to confess her
sins. But because of his vow of silence, he cannot tell the guests of their preplanned murders. He goes about trying to save their lives through a number of ridiculous tricks. Fernandel added much comic charm to this black comedy, which was banned in England.
