Where The Red Fern Grows

1974, Movie, G, 97 mins

A boy-and-his-dog story (actually, two dogs) is given the sappiest treatment this side of "The Waltons," as a poor Oklahoma lad, his pets, and his family struggle to get by on a 1930s farm. Competently made but highly contrived so as to evoke as many "aw's" as possible in an hour and a half, this movie is only for the extremely naive. leave a comment
