Mackaill plays a hard-working Fifth Avenue model closely tied to her family back in Jersey City, but her world is turned around when she is taken in by the suave Byron. The latter offers her everything, but delivers nothing, leaving her only a baby and an embittered attitude against all
men. However, the sensitive artist Nagel is able to break through to the hurt and hardened girl, keeping her life from becoming totally disastrous. Mackaill is effective in her performance, but is upstaged by Blondell in her role as the snappy sister.
