Rebound

Newly married Ames meets up with old flame Loy, the girl who threw him over for somebody else, and almost destroys his marriage as he goes chasing after her. But he manages to catch his senses in time to keep his wife (Claire) from becoming too involved in an affair of her own. Capable performances and witty dialog, injected with sufficient humor, help save a script that tends to take a moralistic tone. Apparently a strong rivalry existed between Loy, 26 at the time, and stage star Claire, who was 40. After seeing Loy's screen test, Claire is reputed to have claimed that Loy could never steal a man away from her, as the script demanded. Director Griffith disagreed ...
