An attempt to capture the atmosphere of the "Beat Generation" of the late 1950s, this yarn is a basic crime caper, and a pretty well put together one at that. Platt is the owner of a coffeehouse who comes up with a scheme to rob an armored truck. He enlists the aid of three cohorts,
Palmer, a struggling actor, Lupton, an unknown writer, and Sullivan, the son of a once famous film star. They pull off the heist but they are captured and killed by the police. Only Palmer survives, and he turns himself in. Well acted and highly suspenseful picture, which shows a degree of
inventiveness in the editing room.
