McCrea plays a backwoodsman who comes to Detroit to earn enough money to buy an outboard motor. He falls for and marries waitress Drew, but problems in their marriage soon emerge. McCrea is the outdoors type, while Drew is a confirmed city dweller. The arrival of a baby makes for further complications and arguments.
