American journalist Beth Winters (Judy Morris) travels to Australia to do a story on the illegal hunting of kangaroos. After she meets with hostility from outback locals, her car is run off the road. While she pulls herself to safety, Beth is attacked and killed by an enormous wild pig. Her husband, Carl (Gregory Harrison), goes to find out what happened and meets Jake (Bill Kerr), whose baby grandson was earlier carried off by the mutant porker and who has dedicated his life to hunting it down.
