Touching story about a boy, Ladd, son of actor Alan Ladd, who sets out to catch a legendary giant barracuda. Setting up on a California pier with a number of seasoned veterans, he eventually hooks the fish. But the boy can't bring himself to keep the majestic barracuda, so he cuts the
line and lets it go. Though overly sentimental, the simple idealism of this film is quite refreshing. Jerry Lewis sings the title song.
