Gambler Curtis is wrongly accused of a murder and takes to hiding. After three years of keeping a low profile, he comes back to clear his name as well as make his claim for Miller, the girl he left behind. Miller has since taken up with Van Eyck, a gambler and head of the gang actually responsible for the killing of which Curtis is accused. With aid from happy-go-lucky Kennedy, Curtis takes care of the gang, winning Miller back in the interim. A good cast, especially Kennedy in a role that was to become his trademark during the 1950s, and fast-paced direction help to gloss over the inconsistencies in the plot.
