This comic look at wartime rationing has meatpacker Beery at odds with the local prima donna of ration stamps, Main. Meanwhile, Beery's adopted son, Batten, is romancing Main's daughter, before he is sent off to war. Unfortunately, too much of the humor is dependent upon overused slapstick
routines, with all other aspects of production undertaken in routine manner. Beery's real-life daughter Carol Ann appears here in a small role as one of the customers in Beery's store.
