They Ran For Their Lives

1968, Movie, NR, 92 mins

Gangsters fight it out in the desert with Payne and his dog after chasing Patten in order to obtain an oil document that belonged to her late father. The heat and Payne's wit are more than the hoodlums can handle, leaving only Carradine--the sleazy partner of the dead man--to contend with. He too is no match for Payne's trusty German shepherd. Payne, who had retired from the screen following HIDDEN FEAR (1957), briefly returned to films for this low-budget dog picture, which he also directed. He then dropped out again. Patten, a one-time Walt Disney child star, also retired after this career-killing effort. leave a comment
