Producer Jesse Lasky, who had brought Maurice Chevalier to Hollywood to star in THE SMILING LIEUTENANT (1931), brought European actor Francis Lederer from Paris to star in this slight story. Lederer sits down in the wrong seat at a movie theater and, thinking the woman next to him is his
date, kisses her--only to find out it's total stranger Lupino. She has him arrested, and the episode becomes a great scandal. Soon Lederer is famous, and Lupino is falling in love with him. A light farce with a bare-bones story adapted from a French film.
