A pathetic film that resorts to tasteless humor at the expense of its cast, most of whom are midgets. Set in 1938--the same time as the filming of MGM's THE WIZARD OF OZ--the movie supposedly follows the escapades of the hundreds of midget extras needed for that picture. Perhaps a behind-the-scenes story of OZ's production would be interesting, but it doesn't appear that way in UNDER THE RAINBOW.
