Rainbow 'Round My Shoulder

Screenwriters Blake Edwards and Richard Quine (who also directed) didn't provide much to get excited about in this oft-told tale of a young gal trying to break into show biz. Austin plays the gal who, despite the protestations of her society-bred aunt Moore, sneaks off and gets a job as a messenger at one of the Hollywood studios, with the hope of being discovered. She is, of course, and soon she is slated to sing in the new Laine picture. Moore finds out and is horrified, so Laine and Daniels offer to provide the entertainment for Moore's upcoming charity ball, to prove that Hollywood types aren't all bad.
