Conte plays a tough San Francisco mobster who takes it on the lam after killing a rival gang member. After failing in his effort to locate his girl friend (Winters) so that he can establish an alibi, Conte stows away on a small fishing boat owned by Bickford and his young son, Nicol. After he is discovered, Conte is surprised to find that he is accepted by the father and son.
