A misfired attempt at an all-star comedy musical, which would show off New York City's Radio City Music Hall. Unfortunately the results were less than toe-tapping and side-splitting. Berle and Oakie play a pair of down-and-out songwriters desperate for new material. They soon discover an
out-of-towner, Burns, who sings brilliant, catchy tunes in his sleep. Oakie and Berle, of course, are at the poor slob's bedside jotting down the tunes and making a decent buck off of them. As it turns out, their biggest problem is how to keep Burns asleep most of the time. The lackluster musical
numbers staged from these dream tunes had trouble keeping audiences attentive in 1938....
