Rachel And The Stranger: Review

RKO rushed this one into theaters hoping to capitalize on Robert Mitchum's newfound notoreity after his dope bust, but this charming picture stands on its own merits. Chief among them is Mitchum's performance as a singing (!) frontier scout of the 1800s who woos the unhappily married wife (Loretta Young) of a Northwest farmer (William Holden).
