Fairly interesting film adaptation of a stage play that ran in Canada and details the strife in Northern Ireland. The action takes place around a small betting shop in Ireland where the lives of several characters intersect. The main thrust of the story deals with an Irish girl, Kidder,
who falls in love with British policeman Foster. Of course, tragedy comes out of the relationship, in the form of an irate group of Irish radicals who accidentally tar and feather Kidder's twin sister (who has just arrived from Canada) when they had intended to humiliate Kidder herself.
