In 1837 French and English inhabitants took part in a rebellion against British rule in the Canadian North. The film, picking up on this incident, stars Barrymore as a young man who believes his mother is dead. Little does he know that she lives and is leading the revolution! Calvet plays the fiery woman, known as "Lafleur." Her acts cause some major problems, since her son is the British governor of the province. There are some misty-eyed scenes when he discovers her identity and that she sacrificed herself so he wouldn't be taken hostage. Rush and Duval are the two lasses competing for his affections.
