McShane is an American playwright living in Rome. Fearing both baldness and recurring dreams of a sex-craving gorilla, he consults Darden, a rather odd, bewigged shrink. In his sessions McShane discusses his past and present amours. He's got problems with his wife (Calder-Marshall), who is having an affair with famed movie idol Gavin.
