This is a no-holds barred look at the underworld of Melbourne's drug scene. Employing actual junkies (two of whom overdosed after the film's completion), the audience is allowed to witness 48 hours within the lives of the drug users. The story is an improvisational "truthful fiction," created by the director and cast members. The pace is quick and direct, with actual heroin injections, junkies nodding out, and a death through overdose. There are some moments of macabre black humor interspersed within the tough, realistic dialog. The film suffers from poor sound recording, though the characters and situations are fascinating enough in and of themselves. leave a comment
