Public Menace

Murphy plays an egotistical reporter who's tailing mobster Dumbrille aboard an ocean liner. He lets the big story slip through his fingers when he meets the ship's manicurist (Arthur) and falls in love. They marry and Murphy is unemployed. He and Arthur fight. He decides to get a divorce, but she saves the day when she recalls giving a manicure to a supposedly slain mobster. Murphy reports the story, but Dumbrille is once more found alive. Murphy is fired again, sure his wife is a detriment. Despite the seemingly downbeat aura of the plot, this is a fairly humourous programmer.
