Public Enemies

Terry plays an energetic reporter in this better-than-average programmer from Republic. His enthusiasm causes him to print a false story about society deb (Barrie) and consequently lose his job. He gets involved with a gangster smuggling operation in order to win back his job while Barrie somehow falls for him. But he will not marry her as she's a mite too rich for his blood. When she is kidnaped by the mobsters he rescues her, gets back his job and ultimately marries the girl. This is a cut above average for its style.
