Debbie (Nell Schofield) and Sue (Jad Capelja) are a pair of Australian teenagers who want to join a group of male surfers, not because they are obsessed with guys but just because they want to surf. Slowly, they become disillusioned and embittered at the sexism that prevents them from
participating fully in the sport they love. Bruce Beresford (BREAKER MORANT, TENDER MERCIES) directs this small film with a great deal of sensitivity, carefully detailing the surfing milieu from a feminine point of view, allowing Debbie and Sue's aspirations and frustrations to become both
humorously and poignantly real.
