This follow-up to HELLO MARY LOU: PROM NIGHT II plays its supernatural storyline for laughs. Thirty years after being burnt to death in a fire at Hamilton High School, Mary Lou (Courtney Taylor) returns to romance Alex (Tim Conlon), a hunky student. Alex's romance with Mary Lou winds up netting him both straight As and success on the football team. The price involved: the vengeful ghost is killing anyone who stands in her loverboy's way--including teachers, a football star, and even Alex's best friend. Alex panics at the carnage caused by Mary Lou, and tries to back out of their relationship. In the meantime, no one around him seems to have taken notice of the rising number of missing persons. Matters are resolved for good when Mary Lou transports him back to the 1950s. Feeble attempts at black humor can't save this stillborn teen terror-tale. The humor misses the mark, and the "suspenseful" moments slow the proceedings down even further. leave a comment
