Satire set in the future in England has the government and church using the mass appeal of rock music to control the nation's youth. Paul Jones (one-time singer with the Manfred Mann group) plays the rock idol manipulated to change his violent, rebellious public image to one of a regular churchgoer. After feeling himself pulled apart, Jones revolts--with the urging of artist/girlfriend Jean Shrimpton, one of the most famous models of the 1960s--against the authorities and his followers, putting them all down.
