Private's Progress

British farce on army life has Carmichael a well-meaning university student who enlists in the army only to become a misfit lost in the strict ways of army existence. He is the prototype upper-class English nerd, who fails to turn out for an army training detail because he's "feeling a bit peckish." He somehow manages to get hooked up with his uncle, Price, who has been looting German art treasures. Plot lacks interest, but the fine cast and witty situations make for some fun.
