Starrett stars as both a retired Texas Ranger and his Robin Hood-type double in one of the best efforts of the "Durango Kid" series. In this one Starrett, as the retired Ranger, is accused of murdering his alter ego, the Durango Kid. His arrest serves as a ploy, allowing him to uncover a plot by Fenton, who is trying to create a cattle empire by stealing cattle on the Santa Fe trail.
