This is the first film for Milligan, who already had a large following in Britain from his numerous television and radio shows. Here he plays a small-town mailman promoted to a position at London's top mail branch. Things do not go as easy for him in the big city as in the country, when he and his girl friend are suspected of masterminding a gang of mail robbers.
