Crawford and Gable were powerful attractions on their own and even more so together. Crawford is a blue-blouse worker at an Erie, Pennsylvania, factory that manufactures boxes. She dreams of a better life and therefore resists the marriage proposal of Ford, a fellow worker who adores her.
