When in it comes to thrills, suspense and insight into sexual obsession, Clint Eastwood's directorial debut far surpasses all the psycho-sexual thrillers that follow in its wake (Jagged Edge, Basic Instinct et al.). Easwood stars as a California disc jockey who gets a call every night from a mysterious woman listener who requests that he play the classic song "Misty." Not long after breaking up with his girlfriend, he finally meets this caller in the flesh, an attractive woman (Jessica Walter) who's also high-strung, seductive and very dangerous.
