Before Molly Ringwald made a name for herself in 1984's teen hit SIXTEEN CANDLES, she had a few lesser-known roles, as in P.K. & THE KID, a 1982 film that was shelved until surfacing in 1987 on videocassette. P.K. (Ringwald) is a likable 15-year-old who runs away from home because her
stepfather (Alex Rocco) is a cruel, sadistic man who is constantly pawing her. She meets up with Kid Kane (Paul LeMat), a pickup-driving nobody who dreams of winning a national arm-wrestling contest and becoming a somebody. The two travel together, meeting a variety of characters along the way.
