Peppard is a down-and-out private eye who's hired as a bodyguard for Hunnicutt, the mistress of millionaire Burr. After a few attempts on her life, Burr moves Hunnicutt, Peppard, and Burr's entire family down to the Bahamas. When another attempt is made on Hunnicutt's life, Peppard kills the would-be assassin, who turns out to be Evers, Burr's business partner. Peppard is jailed for murder but later released. Once free, he discovers that he's been left behind while everyone else has flown to New York. Evidence proves that he was set up to murder Evers. He confronts Burr and Hunnicutt, who end up killing each other in a struggle. Peppard leaves their offices for new adventures. This is an excessively violent film with muddled plotting. The strange twist involving Evers' murder is never made clear, resulting in a confused and bloody picture without much thought behind it. leave a comment
