Wartime propaganda starring Tone as a controversial pilot who volunteers for a dangerous mission that will almost certainly lead to his death. After takeoff, his various friends and acquaintances recall the events that brought Tone to this fate. Kelly tells those gathered that Tone used to be a successful lawyer, but he unwittingly became involved with a right-wing, neofascist politician who was seeking the governorship of a southern state.
