A fun melange of college antics, songs, football, and love, PIGSKIN PARADE marked 15-year-old Judy Garland's first feature and the only time she was ever loaned out by MGM. The frail plot involves a football team from mythical Texas State University, coached by Jack Haley and led by Stuart Erwin, a man who can hurl watermelons further than most people can hit a golf ball. By mistake, the team is invited to play Yale in New Haven. Haley's wife, snappy Patsy Kelly, has as much to do with coaching the team as her husband does.
