Every Picture Tells A Story

1984, Movie, NR, 82 mins

Norton returns from WW I and moves his family to Northern Ireland. He takes work as a sign painter and encourages his son's talent for painting. When Norton is killed helping to put out a fire in a shop, the townsfolk save their money to send the boy off to art school. Eventually he becomes a respected painter (the real-life father of the director of this film). An affectionate tribute, the production looks better than its budget should allow, but it suffers from the poor structuring of scenes and an anticlimactic conclusion after the death of Norton. leave a comment
