1977, Movie, PG, 99 mins

starstarstarstar
A charming Australian film about the early days of Australian moviemaking. Ambitious mogul John Meillon drags his movie equipment into the outback in the 1920s to bring the wonderful magic of motion pictures to amazed citizens. Rod Taylor is the rather melodramatic villain, Meillon's competitor, who gets his hands on the latest equipment before Meillon can afford it. The film is filled with well-drawn characters, touching moments, and great humor. leave a comment
