Phantom Of Chinatown

Finally an Asian actor plays an Asian detective. Someone at Monogram decided that they didn't need another white man to replace Karloff as the Chinese detective in the Mr. Wong series, so they let CHARLIE CHAN veteran--and actual Asian--take take over. Aside from the revolutionary racial casting, there's not much else to note about this routine murder mystery in which an archaeologist is murdered to obtain information found on an ancient Mongolian scroll about an oil-rich territory. Aided by the dead man's daughter Long (a Eurasian actress), Luke hunts the killer down.
