Another Higgins family comedy. This one opens as the patriarch, Karns, decides to retire from the candy factory rat race and spend the rest of his days quietly duck hunting. Unfortunately, his wife, Donnelly, has heard from the insurance man that retired people cannot just relax or they
will die. Panicked, she pushes her old man into running for mayor and has the local women's reform movement, of which she and Moran are the charter members, endorse him. Wouldn't you know it that the man already entrenched in city hall is hooked up with the mob, and the usual set of complications
arise. Look for a very young Alan Ladd once again playing Moran's beau.
